Remedy status

The documented problem

CPSC’s August 2026 recall covers about 1.77 million Louisville Ladder attic stairways in the United States. The notice describes bolts that can break and instructs consumers to stop using affected ladders and register for a free repair kit.

The remedy requires identifying the affected model and registering with the recall operator. A sent notice, a registration and a completed repair are different milestones. The workflow tracks those milestones separately.

The OneShot solution

Product recall management beyond the first notice

Keep every identified eligible unit moving toward the published remedy, with unresolved cases assigned to the recall team.

  1. 01

    Identify an eligible unit

Use authorized retailer, installer and owner records to locate potentially affected units. Ask for the model information required by the recall; an address match alone does not establish eligibility.

  2. 02

    Deliver the approved notice

Contact the owner using recall-approved wording, including stop-use instructions and the official registration route. Record delivery, replies and requests for help.

  3. 03

    Follow the remedy

Track registration and kit fulfillment from the recall operator’s records. Follow up on delivery problems and unanswered requests without treating a shipped kit as a completed repair.

  4. 04

    Record completion or escalation

Collect the evidence the recall operator requires for remedy completion. Keep unreachable owners, uncertain models and installation concerns assigned for further action.

What counts as complete

The recall operator’s remedy criteria are met and evidenced; unresolved units stay open with an owner and next action.

Decisions and exceptions

  • Uncertain models go to the recall operator.
  • Owners needing installation assistance receive the operator’s approved support route.
  • A failed contact is not a completed remedy.

What to measure

  • Eligible units confirmed
  • Registration-to-fulfillment time
  • Evidenced remedy completions
  • Unresolved cases by age

Establish the baseline and review period before launch. Compare completed cases, unresolved work and reviewer corrections against the same scope.

The agent’s tool basket

OneShot gives its agents the tools to analyze records, communicate, research and act on authorized business data. The platform carries the workflow from the first action through to the recorded result.

  • Recall fulfillment records

Connect authorized retailer and installer records to recall eligibility, kit fulfillment and completion evidence.
