DREO recalled 338,800 space heaters after 17 reports of units igniting

338,800 DREO heaters made in a ten-month window can ignite. Later units of the same model are not recalled, so every buyer has to read a label first. The goal: find each one.

What happened

The story, from the record.

On October 29, 2026 DREO and the Consumer Product Safety Commission recalled about 338,800 DR-HSH015 space heaters in the United States and 36,300 in Canada. They were sold at Costco and online at Dreo.com, Best Buy, Kohl's, Lowe's, QVC, Home Depot and others from September 2025 through October 2026, for $70 to $110.

The heaters can overheat and ignite. DREO had 17 reports of heaters igniting, three with property damage and one with a burn to the hand.

Only heaters made from April 2025 through January 2026 are recalled. The date is printed on a label under the base, so two heaters of the same model on the same shelf can differ. The remedy is a free replacement: unplug the heater, cut the cord, and send a photo.

The recall arrives as the heating season starts. Each buyer has to be found, has to turn the heater over, and has to send a photo of a cut cord before a replacement ships.

How OneShot would run it

The goal this leaves open.

OneShot was not involved in this event. This is how the goal it describes would run as one OneShot goal: what one case is, when the goal is done, the steps per case, and the known tool costs for one pass.

The goal

Get every recalled heater out of use before winter: reach each buyer through the store that sold it, confirm the date code, and see the replacement delivered.

One case
One heater sold, from a store's or marketplace's order records.
Starts
When a store sends its buyer list, and whenever a buyer registers on their own.
Done when
Every order ends replaced with a photo of the cut cord on file, confirmed outside the recalled dates, or unreached once the contact rule runs out.
Keeps trying
An email, a text a week later, then a letter, then the order is marked unreached.
Asks a person before
Every notice sent in DREO's name, and any exception to the photo rule.
