Credit disposition
Officer decision, rationale and next action.

The documented problem

In January 2026, federal prosecutors announced charges against former First Brands executives. The allegations included fabricated and inflated invoices sold to financing partners and collateral pledged to multiple lenders. Charges against defendants are allegations, not findings of guilt.

A borrower’s existence does not establish that its receivables are valid. The workflow tests selected invoice claims using independent contact routes and records discrepancies for the lender’s credit team. It does not claim that this process would have prevented the alleged scheme.

The OneShot solution

Invoice verification using independent evidence

Keep selected receivables supported by independent confirmations and clear credit-review decisions.

  1. 01

    Establish the invoice claim

Load the authorized invoice, debtor, amount and supporting records. Apply the lender’s sampling policy and identify duplicates or conflicting references for review.

  2. 02

    Find an independent contact

Resolve the debtor through independent company records and verify a published contact route. Do not use a borrower-supplied email address as the sole confirmation channel.

  3. 03

    Confirm the receivable

Ask the debtor’s authorized accounts-payable contact to confirm the invoice and any disputes. Save the response, channel and date, including refusals and contradictions.

  4. 04

    Route the credit decision

Present confirmed, contradicted and unconfirmed invoices separately. The credit officer decides further diligence or financing action and records the reason.

What counts as complete

The credit officer has a supported disposition for every invoice in the selected review, including explicit treatment of unconfirmed items.

Decisions and exceptions

  • A matched company record is not proof of invoice validity.
  • Non-response remains unconfirmed; it is not evidence of fraud.
  • Disbursement holds and credit decisions stay with the lender.

What to measure

  • Independently confirmed invoices
  • Unconfirmed backlog
  • Time to credit disposition
  • Contradictions resolved

Establish the baseline and review period before launch. Compare completed cases, unresolved work and reviewer corrections against the same scope.

The agent’s tool basket

OneShot gives its agents the tools to analyze records, communicate, research and act on authorized business data. The platform carries the workflow from the first action through to the recorded result.

  • Receivables verification records

Read authorized invoice and collateral records, preserve independent confirmations and route credit decisions.
